new-a4-to-be-first-audi-road-car-with-e-quattro-hybrid-all-wheel-drive NEW A4 TO BE FIRST AUDI ROAD CAR WITH E-QUATTRO HYBRID ALL-WHEEL DRIVE

Audi`s new A4, due out later this year, will be the automaker`s first road-going vehicle to feature a hybrid-based all-wheel-drive system called the e-quattro. The e-quattro system has been used by Audi in its Le Mans prototype racers for the past couple of years, where it`s known as e-tron quattro, and now it`s coming to the production world.

It is essentially a `through-the-road` hybrid all-wheel-drive system where an internal combustion engine drives one axle and an electric drive system is used for the other axle, thus creating an all-wheel-drive system without the need for any connecting drive-shafts. Several automakers already offer such technology including BMW, Peugeot, Porsche and Volvo.

The TT family already has a coupe and convertible, with various engines available in each. But over the past year or so, Audi has been toying with the idea of expanding the range with another bodystyle.

And now the latest report from Car confirms that Ingoldtadt has given the production go-ahead to the TT Offroad concept.

2016-audi-q7 2016 Audi Q7

Audi`s all-new 2016 Q7 has been revealed in full at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, ahead of the vehicle`s showroom debut later this year. These latest photos reveal a handsome albeit somewhat familiar look for the new Q7, but while the exterior may not have changed much engineers have totally revamped things underneath the sheet metal

Underpinning the vehicle is the first iteration of the Volkswagen Group`s new MLB Evo platform, specifically the SUV version of the platform. The platform is an evolution of Audi`s existing MLB structure but is lighter thanks to multi-material construction. Ultra-high-strength parts made of hot-shaped steel form the backbone of the occupant cell. Aluminium castings, extruded sections and panels are used in the front and rear ends as well as the superstructure. Other parts made entirely of aluminium are the doors, the front fenders, the hood and the rear hatch [see video below].

AudiAudi designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes motor cars under the Audi brand name and the recently acquired Ducati Motorbikes and the luxury sports brand Lamborghini.
The name is based on the surname of the founder, August Horch. Horch, meaning listen, becomes Audi when translated into Latin. The four rings of the Audi logo each represent one of four car companies that banded together to create the company. Audi's slogan is Vorsprung durch Technik, meaning Advancement through Technology.
AUDI AG has been a majority owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG since 1966, following the purchase of AUDI AG's predecessor, Auto Union, from Daimler-Benz. Volkswagen re-launched the Audi brand with the 1965 with the introduction of the Audi F103 series.
